Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2016

The Théâtre du Léman in Geneva hosted the 16th ceremony of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), the most important meeting concerning watches and horlogery. The 27 member jury had the mission to choose among 72 watches, the best time piece overall and one instrument for each of the fifteen categories. Around 1,300 guests saw how the main prize, l’Aiguille d’Or, was given to Ferdinand Berthoud for the Chronomètre Ferdinand Berthoud FB 1. This chronometer is made on white gold and titanium, hand wound movement of around 1,120 components, tourbillon and 53 hours of power reserve. Limited to 50 pieces.
