Spaces – coworking solutions

by Abdon FLORES

Spaces is a coworking concept created in 2006 by Martijn Roordink in Amsterdam. The main elements nourishing this idea are synergy and work feedback resulting from the interaction among all the co-workers. The business has had an exponential growth for nowadays there are facilities in 26 cities including London, Sydney, Mexico, Singapore and, since April, Paris which has joined the catalog with a magnificent site near Opera Garnier.

With 2,120 m² distributed in four stories, Spaces Opera intends to attire small and big enterprises as well as freelancers by offering them a professional environment fulfilling all the requirements of the daily work life: printing areas, phone boots, wifi, post service, reception desk, stocking area, enterprise domiciliation, business club, technical support… Moreover, the facility has a parking area for cars and bicycles; a catering zone by Juste à temps and Matthieu et Pauline, as well as a coffee corner by Terres de Café. Private offices and shared areas are furnished with colored forniture and offer a suitable, illuminated and cosy area to work.

According to Christoph Burckart, general director of Spaces France, “the expansion of Spaces will continue in France with two other spots in Paris before June 2017; they’ll be located in Réaumur and boulevard Bonne Nouvelle.” Dynamics is also a key word concerning Spaces since every center will host networking events and special areas dedicated to brainstorming and creativity. Members will be able to use other coworking facilities belonging to International Workplace Group (IWG), a major player in this business that has around 3000 centers in the world.
